Volunteer fire departments in Germany consist of volunteers from many different backgrounds and professions. These volunteer firefighters respond to emergency calls at short notice, providing essential emergency services such as extinguishing fires, pumping water out of flooded basements or securing and clearing roads after an accident. They perform any and all tasks related to the protection of human and animal life. Our volunteer fire service in Neuenhain comprises three different departments: In addition to our regular fire brigade, we also have a “mini fire brigade” for children (ages 6-10) and a youth fire brigade (ages 10-17).
